wine barrels tasting & learning

Wine barrels, really? How much can we share when it comes to this one simple element associated with wine? Well, let’s roll out the barrels and discuss.

It might seem intuitive, but this wine lab (oh oh, we’re getting geeky) will explore the vessel's history, cooperage, “barrel terroir”, the importance to wine production, its influence on the final product, and perhaps a few alternatives to the barrel, both in fermentation and maturation. As a bonus, we’ll pour a few wines to discern the difference between oaked vs. unoaked wines, different oaks used in production, and also understand the importance of time in the barrel.

Whether in your wine journey to learn more or as a consumer, we think this event will help you understand why (or why not) barrels affect your wine preferences and/or why wood is good.
