Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

what we’re rooted in

Community. Approachable adventure.

We are tethered to the tried and true standards we love but always ready to take flight toward new experiences.

We value follow-through, consistency, quality, a connection to place, friendship, seasons, leisure, travel, nature, inclusion, giving back, the outdoors, and family.

Our passion is gathering people around a table to enjoy some great bottles.

We think wine should be: intentional, well-crafted, thoughtful, and delicious!

meet LACIE AND DOUG

Lacie & Doug Flannery, Reno transplants, knew it was time to bring their wine passion West. Soon after selling their popular wine room, ko-ze, in Glen Ellyn, IL, and getting their daughter settled into her first year of college at the University of Wisconsin, they knew opening a retail wine shop was the move. Having built a successful wine room from scratch (which included the complete six-month renovation of a 120-year-old building), they were ready to continue providing memorable and educational experiences, sharing approachable wines, and creating an artistic, community-centered space. Mt. Rose Wine Co., a wine shop in Nevada's Sierra Summit area, took shape.

As former operations directors for mass participation sports (road running events, mainly marathons), Lacie and Doug created experiential elements for the masses. They continue their passion for creating memorable experiences in the Reno-Tahoe area, opening Mt. Rose Wine Co., a neighborhood wine shop sharing good wine with fellow adventurers.

Doug & Lacie are eager to immerse themselves in their new community. They look forward to visiting local businesses, especially women-owned ones, and working with veteran organizations, as Doug retired from the Navy after 31 years of service. Doug and Lacie have always been drawn to bolstering small, non-profit organizations that need community support. They believe in giving back to the community, supporting each other, and, through collaboration, success for all.

“We’ve never really followed the crowd and have always seemed to forge our own path. We love to march to a different drum and the creativity that comes with doing things differently.”
