Join us for a unique blind-tasting event as we celebrate the Anniversary of the Judgement of Paris, Mt. Rose Wine Co. style!
Experience the thrill of a blind tasting featuring two exquisite US wines and two elegant French wines. Can you taste the difference and identify the origin of each wine? Put your palate to the test and see what wine you naturally gravitate toward.
Immerse yourself in the spirit of the Judgement of Paris and discover the diversity and complexity of wines from both sides of the Atlantic. This special event is a tribute to the historic moment that forever changed the world of wine. The Judgement of Paris was a wine competition held in Paris on May 24, 1976, by Steven Spurrier, a British wine merchant, and his colleague, Patricia Gallagher. French oenophiles participated in two blind tasting comparisons: one of top-quality Chardonnays and another of red wines (Bordeaux wines from France and Cabernet Sauvignon wines from California). A Napa County wine rated best in each category, perceived as an ‘upset’ at the time, as France was generally regarded as the foremost producer of the world's best wines. Now you get to be the judge! Perhaps a surprise or two awaits you...
